JUNE

June Extended Hours
We are excited to offer an extra two hours to our camp to help parents with busy schedules!
After cooking all day with Chef Arlena, we will have a trusted teen helper who will play games out in the grass area, color with chalk on the long sidewalk, and other energetic play.
This will help extend our 9-3 camp into a 8 am - 4 pm camp.
We require at least three students to run this portion of our camp and the price is for both extra hours each day.
It is available based on day of the week, and sibling discounts do apply.

Cruise Party June 23-27th Cooking Camp
Sold out
KIDS 9 years old are welcome in this camp if they have participated in my classes and camps in the past.
What a fun camp! Small size camps for individual attention.
A foodies feast on our day's at sea and delicious local foods that will as much fun to make as it is to eat!
You can come for a day or two, or the whole week!
Children are welcome to bring a lunch, but we will be cooking and eating all day so it is not required. A water bottle, and a book are recommended for breaks.
Our aprons are not required, but if you would like to purchase one without our notebook (Required for weekly classes during the school year) you can purchase just the apron at the bottom of the registration tab and choose "pre-school starter kit" which is not a size, but an apron with no book.
With the cost of groceries ever on the rise, I am trying to keep the cost of camp low. One way of doing this is asking the students to each bring their own take home container each day. This helps us put any of our take home food safely in the refrigerator until it is time to go home.
If you have any questions about age, siblings or dietary concerns please reach out to me as I do try to make accommodations whenever possible.
Please remember to leave students name, age and any dietary restrictions in the "note" box at check out and if you are a first time student, fill out all three waivers available on the "Parents info" tab of this website.

COOK CRAFT READ - Summer Cooking Camp
Only a few left!
"Every Night Is Pizza Night" is a children's book by J. Kenji López-Alt that celebrates pizza as the best food in the world, but also explores the joy of trying new things. The book follows Pipo, a pizza-loving girl, who embarks on a quest to prove her theory through a series of culinary experiments with her friends and neighbors. Kirkus Reviews describes it as a picture book with bright colors, dynamic illustrations, and a repetitive, catchy text. It's a warm and funny story about open-mindedness, community, and family, perfect for families and kids who love pizza.

Advanced Class - "Black Apron Club"- BY INVITATION ONLY
Sold out
The Black Apron Club is an exclusive program designed for students who have attended at least one month of regular CCI classes. Under the guidance of Chef Arlena, this course selects students who demonstrate a strong understanding of cooking vocabulary, possess advanced skills beyond their age group, and are ready to tackle more precise, efficient, and complex kitchen techniques.
Unlike regular classes, the Black Apron Club is held at a different location and has limited enrollment. Each session lasts 90 minutes and can require a 8 week commitment as well as students need to purchase a black apron and a new notebook.
Invitations to join this advanced class are extended by Chef Arlena based on individual assessments, and spots are only made available upon acceptance of these invitations. As such, the class will always appear to have no availability.
Interested students or parents should contact Chef Arlena directly for further inquiries or information.

Contribution to scholarship for students
We frequently receive inquiries about how individuals can support our initiative to enhance food knowledge for future generations. We are always grateful for donations of cooking tools and equipment that benefit all our students. However, many have asked how we can offer classes to students who may not have the financial means to participate.
We truly appreciate this generosity and have been working on a solution. For every $40 donation, we will match it, enabling us to provide a full month of classes for a student who otherwise would not be able to attend.
If you would like to contribute towards a school event for elementary schools lacking the budget for a visiting chef or author, please indicate this in the "comment box" at checkout.
Quarter donations are also welcome and will remain in the account until another contribution is made. These combined donations will then be matched by Chef Arlena to fund one month of classes for a selected student.
Please note that summer camp donations are higher as they cover an entire week of cooking, food, crafts, and activities.
Once again, it is our utmost pleasure to match your donations and provide opportunities for community contribution.
If you are interested in applying for a scholarship, please request an application at [email protected].

Private Lesson
Chef Arlena is happy to create a custom class for your jr. chef with just the skills, or recipe they would like to learn.
$65.00 per hour long lesson, for 1 or 2 students only.
Contact Chef Arlena to schedule a lesson before paying.
If you do not have a specific lesson we recommend our "Write My Own Cookbook" as a lesson guide.
