BENEFITS OF LEARNING IN THE KITCHEN
The  most obvious benefit of children cooking is that they actually learn how to cook!

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
  1. Each enrolled student is required to wear the uniform apron, and bring the cook binder for classes- ONE TIME FEE
  2. Students should wear short sleeve shirts and close toed shoes.
  3. Long hair should be pulled back, or bring something to pull it back with.
  4. Please be sure to list any and all allergies and restrictions on the registration. ** All registration forms need to be filled out and either printed and brought to class, or sent digitally before your first class.
  5. The children are required to taste everything made unless there are allergies indicated in registration.
  6. Parents can sign students in the front and return to pick them up after class.
Parents are only permitted to attend class on "Family days"  Thank you for your cooperation.

  7. Due to our kitchen rental agreement, & supply expenses it is not possible to offer make-up classes, or prorated fees. We offer flex passes for inconsistent schedules. Other arrangements can be made on a case-by- case basis.

Its important to remember that these facilities teach with a focus on a variety of foods and it is not possible to have an entirely sterile area of all types of allergens. Welcome Jr. Chefs and Families

Picture
My training as a chef began before this brood was around, and with a specialty in catering, it became more difficult to continue in my chosen career the more of these cuties we had. Having four kids and a husband in the military, my culinary skills amounted to making dinner for the family, and birthday party fun. As my kids grew and I began teaching them to cook, other friends' kids  would randomly show up in the kitchen and I was asked by others around me to teach their kids along with mine. This is where CCI began and I have been happy to share it with others so that it can enrich children and families every where. I graduated from The International Culinary School out of London in 1993, and since have done professional development courses at several different schools, most recently at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris France.
Now, I am a grandma and my husband is retired. I am still teaching kids everywhere with a goal of a brighter food future for us all! Educational required backgrounds checks, local and federal food-handlers licences, CPR / first aid and culinary certifications are always current and up-to date! While there are many locations teaching this amazing curriculum , I am the founder and author of the curriculum and I am excited to be serving in the Pittsboro area!
